As far back as I can remember, we were an ice cream family. My dad never drove by an ice cream place without stopping, no matter what time of day it was. For years, there was an abandoned Texaco station on the corner of Route One and Pine Point Road -- and for years, my parents would say "we should buy that, and make it into a ice cream place." In 1979, they finally did it. They purchased the old gas station and converted it into The Dairy Corner.

It turned out to be a great decision. They ran it successfully for twenty years, until they finally decided to retire and put it up for sale. I live 4 miles from the store and decided I would buy it from them and keep it in the family. I am so glad I did!

 

It is now a local landmark, and we have been selling delicious Maine made ice cream for almost 40 years! With over 75 hard serve flavors, tasty yogurts, classic vanilla and chocolate twist, and a new soft serve flavor each week, The Dairy Corner is a favorite destination for locals and tourists alike.
